In response to hiring and information needs in the digital era, MOEX has committed to ensuring that the rights of examinees are upheld, exams are fairness, and the digital transformation of national exams looks to the future . The ministry started promoting computer-based testing for multi-choice questions in 2004. In a milestone for national exams, the psychologist exam will hold its first computer-based national exam essay questions in July 2022.
It has recently been suggested, according to MOEX, that the national exam for traditional Chinese medicine practitioners should embrace computer-based testing. Having considered that the technology is already being used in traditional Chinese medicine training, MOEX plans to introduce computer-based both multiple-choice and essay questions in the 2023 Chinese medicine practitioner exam.
The ministry further stated that to accommodate examinee needs, candidates may list their technical requirements for the computer-based testing, such as Chinese input methods, when applying for exams online. Computer-based testing will take place in certified venues, and answers will be automatically saved during the exam. The system will be able to immediately respond to incidents such as computer crashes and power supply interruptions. To help with preparation for computer-based testing, information, a user handbook, and practice tests will be available in a designated section of the MOEX website. Examinees are invited to take advantage of these web-based resources and provide feedback.
