New measures for national examinations are set to begin in 2024. The number of professional exam subjects and exam content will be adjusted for the five civil service examinations: junior and senior exams, local government exams, special exams for candidates with disabilities, the special transfer examination for veterans, and the special examination for indigenous peoples. Physical fitness test events and passing standards for the special examination for general police officers will be adjusted. Candidates have two attempts at the standing long jump. The grade 5 special exam for local government will be merged with the elementary civil service examination. A special examination for offshore islands personnel will be held. All new measures are intended to align exams with work requirements, improve selection effectiveness, and create a friendly selection process.
Computer-based testing will be used in professional and technical personnel examinations for first and third examinations for nutritionists and registered professional nurses. MOEX promotion of computer-based testing has been fruitful, with the number of exam locations increasing from 18 in 2022 to 25 in 2023, and seating increasing from 8,153 to 11,773. The number of computer-based testing seats will exceed 16,000 in 2024. Computer-based testing and computer-based essay writing will gradually be expanded to help promote the national examination digital transformation.
Elementary examinations will be held in additional locations on the offshore islands of Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. Junior and senior civil service examinations will also be held in Miaoli and Yunlin. Exam takers may choose to take their exams at nearby locations.
To align with user habits of the internet generation and digitalization trends, QR codes have been implemented in exam information notices. For more information, please visit the official MOEX website.
