Title MOEX Collaborates with Career Development Seed Teachers at Universities to Promote Civil Service Recruitment

MOEX invited the Ministry of Civil Service and the Youth Development Administration of the Ministry of Education to participate in a seminar today aimed to promote civil service recruitment through campus career development mentors. This event brought together guidance counselors from 42 universities and 35 technical and vocational colleges and universities, along with representatives from indigenous student resource centers. With education as the starting point, MOEX plans to establish a network of seed teachers on campuses to assist young students in early career planning and foster an understanding of civil service, building a pool of potential public servants.

In repose to declining birth rates and growing competition in the job market, MOEX has promoted outreach campaigns to attract young individuals to pursues a career in the civil service. This seminar featured three keynote speeches:

1."Experience a Career in Public Service Firsthand: Internships for University Students in the Public Sector", presented by Section   Chief Hsu Yi-Hung of the Youth Development Administration. This talk explained how students can gain insights into government operations through internships in public departments, helping them plan their future careers.

2."Civil Service System and Employment Management (Including Benefits and Promotions": delivered by Senior Inspector Huang Chia-Hui of the Ministry of Civil Service. This session covered the structure of central and local government agencies, the rights of civil servants, salary and benefits, and retirement systems.

3."National Examinations and Civil Service Recruitment", led by Section Chief Chen Li-Wen of the Ministry of Examination. This session detailed civil service exam and professional and technical exam categories, eligibility requirements, examination methods, and collaborative efforts to recruit civil servants.

Minister Mon-Chi Lio expressed his hope that the seminar would provide participants with essential information on public sector internships, civil servant benefits, and how to coach students in preparing for national examinations. He emphasized the role of campus career development mentors in guiding students to consider civil service examinations as part of their career planning and supporting their preparation for these exams.

The Q&A session following the morning and afternoon presentations featured discussions on topics such as applying for national examinations, accessing examination curriculum maps, special examination for indigenous peoples, university students’ qualifications for public sector internships, and issues related to the transfer or reappointment of current civil servants.
